I shall make sure to get a full length outfit shot of me tomorrow for you, and thank you for being sweet! (:
Thank you!! (: I get quite mixed reviews on it (hehe) xx
I pluck them until they are quite thin, and then use an eyebrow pencil to fill them in and create the shape I want, they seem to look different every day though… (:
Please no more of these “are you really that pale” questions :( it is getting too silly now. But to answer for the last time… Yes that is the tone of my skin in them images, they were took outside in the shade, with no camera flash.
I get really flustered over this too! As I feel slightly awkward going to a club fully dressed in vintage and then id feel even more awkward if I had to wear modern clothes. So I usually just opt for a figure hugging 1950s wiggle dress, stockings, heels and still pile on the vintage jewellery. I do my hair and make-up 40s still. Classy and fully vintage yet not as ‘granny’ as I usually dress (: xxx
I get attached to pretty much every vintage item of clothing I buy, once it is accepted into my ‘collection’ it stays there, I plan to keep everything for if I have a little girl one day. I do have a cardigan from when I was about 4/5 which I am pretty emotionally attached to though, in most of my youngest memories I was wearing it (: xx
It is indeed open today! (:
Thank you!! … I’d certainly say that my carved ivory beaded 1920s necklace gets worn a rather lot/my staple piece, I also wear along with it my long 1920s Bakelite necklace. My Art Deco watch from my great grandmother also gets worn pretty much constantly, it does not work so I think of it as a bracelet …Oooh and my 1930s engraved silver and coral beaded necklace is worn at least every other outing! (: xx
Yes it very much interests me, I am a lover of all history in general, including WW1 and WW2, but in terms of style I have always focused on the styles of 1939-1942 and then 1947-1952, so I have always missed the war time styles of WW2, even though I do own a few dresses made during the war. I am generally about the creativeness of the 40s; the movies, music, art, and so on…
To answer whether I believe I could have coped living back then during the war… I believe so, if I have to do something, I just get on with it. I may not have enjoyed the downsides to the war (had I lived then) but when you have no choice in something what else can you do but get on with it and wait for it to be over? ..I am sure this is how many women would have thought during the war. One thing with war time women, even though there was a war going on, they still found time and the energy to beautify themselves with make up and pretty outfits and hairstyles, they certainly took care of themselves, and that is one of the many reasons I think so highly of the women living during the war, and adore the fashions of the 40s. I am sure your Nan was a beautiful and powerful women, working as a war nurse is one thing I believe I would not of been able to cope with, it would have took a very special person!
I have always told myself that I am not one of those people who whine about how they ”were born in the wrong era” but if I was given the option to go back in time and to spend some of my life living there, I would most certainly take up the offer! If I could rewrite my life and have been born in the 30s and lived this age (18) in the 40s, then no I wouldn’t take up that offer, what I like about myself is how unusual I look compared to modern today people, had I been around in the 40s, id look like everyone else and would probably have wanted to be dressing in the 20s if not way before!
(: xx
(Hehe) What would count as being famous? (:
I am deeply flattered, thank you, but my gosh don’t be jealous! (: I’m sure you have a beautiful body/figure, and most certainly better than mine!!
My measurements are 37”, 24”, 37” A vintage 40s/50s UK size 14-16 and a modern today’s UK size 8-10 (: x
Hello! You must be messing with me! But I’m blushing all the same! (hehe) So thank you greatly! (:
Ahh yess, thank you, you just reminded that I need to add that to the page, so I am very glad you have asked… I use Jet black hair dye even though my natural colour is light black/the darkest brown, there really is no real need for me to dye it, but it has turned into bit of an addiction which has lasted 4-5 years now! I have no experience of going from blonde to black, but I have friends who have, and they have all deeply regretted it, but only because they have done the job themselves/tried to remove it themselves. I’d say try it, but definitely get a professional to give you their opinion/to do it.
P.S. Blonde is beautiful, I wish I had been born light headed! (: Good luck with whatever you may chose! xxx
August 6th. I am not having one this year though, as I wish to remain 18.
Thank you!! (:
I buy quite a bit of it from auctions, but I get given just a much! I am also good friends with a lot of vintage store owners so that gains me some extremely good discounts! I’ve been offered a few jobs in vintage stores, but Id be terrible working in them, id want everything for myself! (hehe) And yes, I have noticed a huge decrease over the past few years with vintage, its why I buy so much of it and store it up! (: And thank you again lovely!! …I’d happily share it with you if you lived near by! xx
I would be able to tell if its authentic just by looking at detailed images of it. Feel free to email me several images to leah-leveridge@hotmail.co.uk (:
